Raising New Generations - The Raining Season

PRLog - Dec. 29, 2014 - SPRING HILL, Tenn. -- No More Poverty, a non-profit organization that supports charities around the world, its founders and Cindy Omidi, are proud to remain supporters of the non-profit organization, The Raining Season.

The Raining Season began with one adopted child. Soon after the adoption, founders Jason Rust and Erica Stone realized they couldn’t simply leave the rest of the abandoned children in Sierra Leone alone.

Today, after many years of hard work, this charity runs “The Covering,” an orphan care facility that provides a full-time home, regular meals, and 24/7 care for over 120 children. With over 70 Sierra Leoneans employed by The Raining Season today, the group depends on employees’ and local volunteers and supporters around the world to survive.

The Raining Season also offers a unique sponsorship program, in which it supports building life-long relations between donor supporters and their ‘adopted’ children. Sponsors have monthly Skype sessions with their child and they receive letters, photos, school updates and artwork regularly. In addition to your monthly emotional support meetings, your financial donations help the children by covering their meals, medical care, education costs, personal items and the staff that keeps them safe.

No More Poverty invites you to learn more about volunteering next year, or sponsoring a child, or donating directly to The Raining Season this year. To read the full story of this charity’s founding, you can find the account as told by co-founder Erica Stone, here.
