Freetech Successfully Applied New Technology in the Road Network of Xiamen Port in Fujian Province and Repaired the Deep Roadbase Damage

Hong Kong, Jan 20, 2015 - (ACN Newswire) - Freetech Road Recycling Technology (Holdings) Limited ("Freetech", or the "Group;" stock code: 6888), a leading and fast-growing service provider in the asphalt pavement maintenance ("APM") industry using "Hot-in-Place" recycling technology, today announced that on December 2014, the Group successfully completed the road network of the Sandu Road maintenance project of Xiamen City in Fujian Province by using Hot-in-Place recycling technology and Modified Cold-in-Place recycling technology.

Sandu Road is the road network of Xiamen Port in Fujian Province of the People's Republic of China. This port has been upgraded to be China's first fully automated container terminal and known as an "important symbol of modernization in China's shipping industry".

Due to the long-term rolling from heavy container trucks, Sandu Road has a depth of 25cm roadbase damage besides a depth of 4cm to 6cm pavement damage. These two kinds of road diseases require different types of road maintenance methods. The owner of the road requested that during the maintenance work the whole road should not be closed and the daily traffic should not be affected. He further requested that the whole maintenance work must be finished before the port is to be put into trial operation.

According to the situation, the Group used the self-developed Modified Cold-in-Place recycling technology to repair the deep roadbase damage and Hot-in-Place recycling technology to repair the pavement damage. The owner of the road estimated that the Group had used 20 days to complete the project which was originally scheduled to use 60 days to complete, had shortened 2/3 of maintenance period.

This project demonstrates the Group's technological advantages. In addition to the Hot-in-Place recycling technology, the Modified Cold-in-Place recycling technology can be successfully applied to the project at the same time. Such combination was also successfully used in G323 state road project. Besides, it has been the second time for the Group to undertake port road maintenance project following the successful completion of Yanjiang road maintenance work of Haimen City in Jiangsu Province, which may greatly help the Group to develop more business opportunities in other domestic ports in the future.

About Hot-in-Place TechnologyHot-in-Place Technology is used in asphalt pavement maintenance, an on-site, in-place technology that rehabilitates deteriorated asphalt pavements through heating, scarifying and mixing the damaged asphalt materials with new materials and thereby minimises the use of new materials. The primary purpose of this process is to repair pavement damages such as cracks, ruts and holes, and bumps.
