UQM Technologies Achieves Electric Motor/Controller System Certification in China

UQM Technologies Inc. (NYSE MKT: UQM) today announced that it has achieved China Certification on its PowerPhase HD® 250 electric propulsion system that meets the Chinese General Specifications for electrical machines and controllers for electric vehicles. The PowerPhase HD 250 is optimized for transit bus and commercial vehicle applications, and the certification enables UQM to supply this system to vehicle manufacturers throughout China. The testing, conducted over a three month period at the China Automotive Technology & Research Center in Tianjin, included extensive system performance analysis for power and torque, environmental examinations including vibration, salt spray and sealing performance and electrical testing.

The UQM PowerPhase HD 250 system is specifically designed for heavy-duty drive applications. Providing up to 95 percent efficiency, the system consists of a high- performance, liquid-cooled, permanent magnet motor and a high-power, liquid-cooled inverter with a full-featured digital signal processor controller for use in electric medium- to heavy-duty truck, bus, marine, locomotive, military and industrial vehicles.
