ReachLocal Names Paras Maniar Chief Strategy Officer, Megan Opp as Chief People Officer

ReachLocal Inc. (NASDAQ:RLOC), a leader in powering online marketing for local businesses, announced today the appointments of Paras Maniar as its Chief Strategy Officer and Megan Opp as its Chief People Officer. The additions are instrumental in helping the company increase its focus on strategy and on developing and attracting the talent needed to achieve its long-term objectives.

Maniar will work with the executive team, particularly corporate development, product, marketing, sales and services, to build the roadmap that helps ReachLocal deliver on its vision. Opp will focus on building a coordinated human resources strategy that leverages global best practices to create the culture and infrastructure needed for ReachLocal’s talent worldwide to develop and grow along with the company.

Most recently, Maniar was with WPSChallenger, where he managed the venture fund’s portfolio and investments in North America. Prior to that, he was a founding executive of EQAL, a social media startup acquired by Everyday Health. While there he served in executive roles including Chief Strategy Officer, EVP of Corporate Development, Chief Operating Officer and board member. Maniar also spent four years at McKinsey and Company where he was a member of the company’s Telecomm, Media and Technology practice.

Opp brings more than two decades of human resources experience in the technology, digital media, energy, real estate, and financial services industries. Most recently, she was Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Conversant, where she developed worldwide programs focused on compensation, learning and development, employee recognition, talent acquisition, and initiatives to support a unified company culture.
