Mike McBride Appointed Vice President of Legislative Affairs at BAE Systems, Inc.

BAE Systems, Inc. has named Mike McBride vice president of Legislative Affairs, effective immediately.

McBride succeeds Doug Stewart, who will remain on staff to ensure a smooth transition until he retires on May 1. In his new role, McBride will assume responsibility of all legislative affairs activities, overseeing BAE Systems, Inc.’s relationships with members of Congress, congressional committees, and staff, to ensure a mutual understanding of priorities and concerns.

"Mike brings extensive experience, both on and off Capitol Hill, to his new role," said Frank Ruggiero, senior vice president of Government Relations at BAE Systems, Inc. "His deep understanding of legislative affairs and priorities is essential to continuing our close, collaborative relationships with congressional leaders from both parties.”

Before joining BAE Systems, Inc. as the director of Legislative Affairs in 2010, McBride was a minority staff director on the State, Local and Private Sector Preparedness and Integration Subcommittee on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. During his 3 years on the Committee, McBride advised two Ranking Members of the Subcommittee, Senator John E. Sununu (R-NH) and Senator John Ensign (R-NV). Prior to that, McBride spent much of the previous decade in a number of government relations positions spanning industry and government. These include his role as a legislative analyst for BAE Systems, and as a legislative aide for Senator Judd Gregg (R-NH).
