Collectors of Austrian, Bohemian and Czechoslovakian decorative arts to gather for lectures, excursions, and antique show and sale.
PRLog - April 21, 2015 - CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- The 2015 Czechoslovakian Collectors Association convention will be held June 4-7 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This annual event will feature trips to the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library as well as the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art. At the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel and Convention Center, the site of the convention, an Antiques Show and Sale will feature multiple dealers covering all aspects of Austrian, Czechoslovakian and Bohemian antiques and decorative arts.
CCA is dedicated to the ABCs — Austrian, Bohemian and Czechoslovakian decorative arts. Its mission is to foster the collection and appreciation of the art glass, ceramics, jewelry and other decorative arts of the region from 1850 to 1940. This encompasses a vast range of styles - Victorian, Art Nouveau and Deco; of makers - Amphora, Dressler, Mrazek and Ubach, Loetz, Kralik and Moser; and of forms - jewelry, sculpture, perfume bottles, vases, wall pockets and much more!
At the convention, presentations will include “The Lost History of Rückle - And it’s Still Lost” by Debbie Truitt, noted expert and author of several books on Bohemian Glass and “Czech Perfumes” by collector Judy Myers.
The antiques show and sale is open to the public free of charge. Lectures carry a nominal charge. All activities are included in the registration fee, which is available to both members and nonmembers.
