Rockville, MD – On April 15 2015, Drink Baku launched a Kickstarter campaign for their new organic relaxation beverage that is cold-brewed and uses fresh Kenyan tea leaves. The Maryland-based team is committed to creating a high quality, healthy product that fosters a positive relationship with Kenyan Farmers and Baku customers.
“Baku uses a combination of ingredients known for their relaxing properties. With the blend of ingredients and only 6 grams of sugar added, Baku doesn’t leave you sluggish or sleepy,” the creators explain, “Sampling Baku within our community, we have received wonderful feedback. Some describe Baku as a sweet-tea that uses substantially less sugar, some thought of it as a hybrid tea with juice flavors. One thing that remained constant is that BAKU TASTES GREAT!”
Baku is ready-to-drink tea that is available to Kickstarter backers in two flavors: Pink Apple and Orange Empire. Each can contains fair trade ingredients sourced from Kenya and is 100% vegan. Baku uses a blend of over 10 different tea leaves, including chamomile tea, hibiscus tea, green teas, and more! Now Drink Baku has turned to Kickstarter for the help they need to increase production and take their small business to the next level.
“Our team met in college, where consistent all-nighters drove us to find a better alternative for coffee and energy drinks. Either in a moment of creative genius or our sleep-deprived mania, we decided to cold brew Kenyan tea,” the team shares, “We wanted to create more than just a product. Our goal was to create something that could help others. With Baku, we are able to work closely with Kenyan tea Farmers.”
In exchange for pledging to the project, backers can gain access to a variety of rewards including a can of Pink Apple for $10 or one of each flavor and 1.5 ounces of Baku special loose tea blend for $15. Hot tea lovers can pledge $35 to receive 4 oz of Baku loose tea blend (brews 58 cups) and a Baku t-shirt. Other reward tiers include more fun items like the Baku travel mug and even the chance to have Baku shipped to your house for 6 months to a year!
