UPDATE 1-US FDA panel recommends Vertex cystic fibrosis treatment

WASHINGTON, May 12 (Reuters) - A U.S. Food and Drug Administration advisory committee found the combination Orkambi treatment safe and effective for cystic fibrosis for ages 12 and up, and recommended approval of the Vertex Pharmaceutical Inc drug.
