Counsyl Honored by Goldman Sachs for Entrepreneurship – CEO Ramji Srinivasan among 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs at 2015 Builders + Innovators Summit

Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) is recognizing Ramji Srinivasan, founder and CEO of health technology company Counsyl, as one of the 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs of 2015 at its Builders + Innovators Summit in Santa Barbara, California.

Goldman Sachs selected Srinivasan as one of 100 entrepreneurs from multiple industries to be honored at the two-day event. As CEO, Srinivasan oversees a group of top engineers, scientists, designers and genetic counselors who are taking the lead in building the modern clinical lab to deliver better, faster and more affordable genetic screens. Srinivasan has played an integral role in the creation of Counsyl’s industry-leading modern lab, as well as the company’s platform for patient and doctor communications.

"I am incredibly honored and humbled to be invited to this event and receive this recognition," said Srinivasan. “Counsyl has experienced tremendous growth. We recently reached a key milestone of 500,000 patients screened, and I am sincerely grateful to our employees, partners and investors who are tirelessly dedicated to making genetic screening more broadly accessible."

"We are honored to recognize Ramji Srinivasan as one of the most intriguing entrepreneurs of 2015," said David Solomon, co-head of investment banking at Goldman Sachs. "This is an exciting time for entrepreneurs. This is the fourth year that we’ve hosted the Builders + Innovators Summit and continue to be amazed by what happens when a diverse group of seasoned and emerging business leaders -- the builders and innovators – come together to discuss how to drive innovation, create jobs, and build enduring organizations."

For more than 145 years, Goldman Sachs has been advising and financing entrepreneurs as they launch and grow their businesses. In addition to honoring 100 entrepreneurs, the summit consists of general sessions and clinics led by Goldman Sachs experts, seasoned entrepreneurs, academics and business leaders as well as resident scholars.
