- Inauguration of Cisco Innovation Center – On October 8, 2015, Cisco systems Inc. announced that Emmanuel Macron, French Minister of Economy, Industry and Digital Affairs, opened the new Innovation and Research Center at Cisco headquarters in Paris. The Company informed that the center will serve as a hub for global open innovation, will bring start-ups, accelerators, developers, researchers, ecosystem partners and the venture community together, to create ground-breaking technology and innovative solutions for smart cities and the Internet of Things. Cisco added that the Center rests on two collaborative pillars, firstly, Universities and Research centers, which allows Cisco to strengthen its relationship with the Ecole Polytechnique, and secondly, start-up incubators and accelerators such as NUMA.

- Management Speak – Commenting on the inauguration of Cisco Innovation Center, Robert Vassoyan CEO of Cisco France, said, "This new Center for research and innovation will enable Cisco to successfully carry on its mission with the French government. This unique place in Europe contributes to the excellence of French research and continuous innovation in the field of Internet of Everything and artificial intelligence, thus confirming the attractiveness and the acceleration of France's digital transformation."

- Partnership Agreements for Digital Acceleration – Cisco stated that the opening of the Innovation Center follows the "country digitisation" agreement between Cisco and the French government made in February 2015. As per the agreement, the Company committed to accelerate the digital transformation of France through a series of investment totaling to more than $100 million. The Investment involves developing national network infrastructure, researching smart cities, investing in star-ups, training individuals for the new digital economy and broadening cyber security expertise. Under this digital transformation drive, Cisco has also signed a partnership agreement with SO Digital- the new accelerator program based in the West of Paris that brings communities, businesses and schools together. The Company highlighted that under this initiative, Cisco is providing ten start-ups with the resources they need to help accelerate their growth. The Company has also strengthened its partnership with the X-Novation Center of the École- Polytechnique - the collaborative innovation environment where incubator X-Tech and accelerator X-UP can benefit from the Cisco Immersive Demo Lab. As per the Company the Lab is equipped with a state of the art immersive TelePresence screen including an interactive Video wall allowing business or student groups around the world to collaborate seamlessly on tasks and challenges.

- Introduced So Mobility – Cisco stated that developing a smart city initiative is a major focus of Cisco's agreement with the French Government, and in order to fulfill this the Company has created the So Mobility consortium with founding members Caisse des Dépôts, Bouygues Immobilier, Engie, Transdev, Colas and the city of Issy-les-Moulineaux. The aim of So Mobility is to demonstrate that a viable, holistic, cross-industry approach can address the needs of modern citizens. Further, Cisco stated that So Mobility will focus on improving road traffic, city-wide parking and work to anticipate new modes of transport.
