Time Warner Cable Business Class Partners with i-SAFE Ventures to Offer Schools Discounted CIPA-Compliance Services

Time Warner Cable Business Class (TWCBC) today announced a partnership with i-SAFE Ventures that makes it easier for schools to meet the mandates imposed under the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) which is required to receive E-Rate Program funding.

Through this partnership, schools receiving E-Rate funds for Dedicated Internet Access from TWCBC will have access to discounted subscriptions for i-SAFE services, which meet CIPA requirements for Internet Policy notification and instruction on mandated e-safety topics. i-SAFE services are easy to use, built to the high standards of child privacy laws and current educational standards, and more cost and time-efficient than typical district processes.

“We’ve become a valued Internet Service provider to some of the largest and most prestigious institutions and school systems in the country, helping them create a multi-media rich classroom environment,” said Matthew Foosaner, Director, Government and Education Solutions, TWCBC. “Through this partnership with i-SAFE Ventures, schools can minimize the burden and costs associated with being CIPA-complaint, allowing educators to focus on what they do best: teaching.”

CIPA requires that schools receiving reimbursements through the E-Rate program must verify they have educated every student on the following three topics: Appropriate Online Behavior, Social Networking and Cyber Bullying. In addition they must communicate an annual Internet Safety Policy and maintain documentation for ten years.

“Online programs, apps and rich media experiences are increasingly critical to achieving educational outcomes, and at the same time we have a responsibility to protect student’s privacy,” said Teri Schroeder, CEO of i-SAFE Ventures. “This partnership will help schools create a modern, high-quality learning environment, while simply and effectively meeting privacy mandates.”

TWCBC provides elementary and secondary schools advanced, reliable and safe solutions to foster 21st century learning and innovation, including Internet, Voice, Television and Network and Cloud Services. TWCBC’s cost-effective solutions can assist schools in leveraging technology to create a rich learning environment.
