Biologics, Inc. announced today that its team has helped secure over $49 million in copay card and foundation assistance for patients in need of oral oncology medication. As a result of the high cost associated with cancer therapy, over twenty percent of Biologics’ patients request financial assistance to help support their treatment and cost of living needs.
As part of the company’s core oncology pharmacy team, patients are assigned a dedicated financial counselor to educate them on benefit design and determine eligibility. Counselors also help patients apply to assistance programs offered by charitable organizations and drug manufacturers. Throughout treatment, the patient’s out-of-pocket costs and copay assistance balance are also monitored so that potential issues are resolved before they arise.
In addition to financial support, Biologics’ Patient Access Services team performs benefits investigations and prior authorization appeals to expedite access to therapy for all patients.
