Department of Children’s Services Launches New Contracts Management System

The Department of Children’s Services recently launched an improved contracts management system that provides DCS staff with the ability to manage all personal, professional, and consulting contracts for the department within one system.

The launch of this system allows the Department of Children’s Services staff to track all contracts throughout the workflow. The robust system includes email notifications to alert staff of deadlines and generates complex customized reports. The system provides an easy to use interface for managing workflows and approvals, and keeps a history of each contract from inception through final approval.

“The modernized database system greatly enhances efficiencies in the management and tracking of contracts, the collection and exporting of accurate data related to contracts, and in the provision of objective analyses of staff’s performance over time. This is the first system in over 16 years that will allow DCS to more effectively and efficiently manage, execute and track over 500 contracts annually,” said Suzanne White, Director of Contracts Management.

The Department of Children's Services Contracts Management System was designed and developed by NIC, Inc., Tennessee’s eGovernment Partner since 2000.
