U.S. Cellular Adding Customer Value with New Shared Connect Pricing Plans

U.S. Cellular is now offering new, streamlined Shared Connect plans with more data and bonus value on its high-quality network that keeps customers connected in big and small cities and rural communities. All plans with 16GB or higher now include unlimited calling and texting to Canada and Mexico plus data usage controls, all at a lower price than Verizon.

“We continue to provide the best value,” said Joe Settimi, vice president of marketing for U.S. Cellular. “Plus, our customers can use their phones, tablets and connected devices with confidence that they are not going to exceed their data plans. These new plans are easy to understand, giving our customers the flexibility to choose the right one for them, knowing they’ll be using their device on a high-quality 4G LTE network that keeps them connected nationwide.”

Each Shared Connect plan comes with unlimited talk and text, and customers can change their plan at any time. The new, simplified plans provide customers with more data to connect to the information and entertainment they want and include:

  • 2GB for $30 per month (was 1GB for $25)
  • 4GB for $45 per month (was 3GB for $40)
  • 8GB for $60 per month (was 6GB for $55)
  • 16GB for $80 per month (was 12GB for $80)
  • 24GB for $100 per month (was 15GB for $90)

Customers who choose 16GB plans or higher receive unlimited calling and texting to friends, family and businesses in Canada and Mexico, and it is just $10 per month on plans 8GB and under. Plans of 16GB and above also include data usage controls which allow customers to limit the amount of data each line on an account can use. This service is $4.99 on plans 8GB and under.

All smartphones on Shared Connect plans have a $20 monthly connection charge per line, tablets are $10, and home phones, routers and hotspots are $20. With the introduction of these enhanced and simplified plans, consumers can now purchase a smartphone using one of U.S. Cellular’s monthly payment options that best meet their needs over 20, 24 or 30 months.

Customers who want take advantage of these value-packed plans can port their number from another carrier and trade in their device – even one with a cracked screen – and receive an unlimited buy-out of their current contract after they submit their final bill from that carrier.
