Agrium and Potash discuss merger

Agrium Inc. (NYSE: AGU) confirmed that the farm products retailer engaged merger talks with fertilizer producer Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan INc. (NYSE: POT). Shares of Agrium leaped $6.28 to close at $95.76 while Potash stock climbed $1.74 to close at $17.79.
