Triumph Realizes Milestone Delivery in Support of USAF Maintenance Program

Triumph Group (NYSE:TGI) marked the shipment of the 100th KC-10 Aerial Refueling Boom in support of the U.S. Air Force maintenance program, on August 26. Triumph Group’s Product Support business, based out of Wellington, Kansas, has provided repair and overhaul service on the KC-10 boom since the program’s inception in 1999.

“We are proud of our long history serving the U.S. Air Force KC-10 aircraft program and extremely pleased to celebrate this milestone with one of our most valued patrons,” said Mike Abram, executive vice president of Triumph Product Support. “We also look forward to partnering, in the not too distant future, with L3 Communications in support of the KC-10 CLS program.”

Triumph Group was recently identified as a key teammate by L3 when the company was selected to provide full contractor logistic support for the KC-10. As a supporting partner, Triumph will continue to provide repair and overhaul services for the KC-10 boom and additional components, as awarded.

“The maintenance support Triumph provides on the KC-10 program is strong and consistent,” said Col. Mark Mocio, Legacy Tanker division commander and KC-135 program manager. “This milestone delivery demonstrates the significance of the partnership they have had with the U.S. Air Force for more than 50 years. We look forward to continuing that relationship as part of the KC-10 CLS program.”

Triumph’s Wellington site has supported the U.S. Air Force since 1965, providing maintenance, overhaul and repair services on multiple defense programs including the KC -135 Stratotanker program, which recently celebrated its 60th anniversary.
