Randomly selected? No, United bumps based on amount paid for ticket, check-in time

Many accounts of United’s passenger-dragging fiasco said the injured customer was among those “randomly selected” to get bumped. But the airline’s method for picking passengers isn’t random, says a report that the airline itself released Thursday.
