Save Our Shores Long Table Event Effort to Help Businesses Affected by Red Tide

ANNA MARIA, Fla. - August 23, 2018 - (

Area business leaders and restaurateurs are collaborating to host Save Our Shores Long Table event to bring awareness that, despite the recent, natural Red Tide occurrence, beaches and businesses are open for locals and visitors to continue to enjoy.

Seven area restaurants and multiple businesses will assemble to host this signature event showcasing local culinary favorites, craft beers and wine on the white sands of Anna Maria Island.  The goal of this charity event is to counter the perception that Red Tide blankets the state and therefore no one can enjoy our beaches, restaurants, parks and natural resources or contribute to the local economy. We intend to bring awareness to the impact this has not only on local businesses, but more importantly on the employees, families and partners these entities support with the revenues generated.

Visit Florida and the Bradenton Area Convention and Visitors Bureau are co-sponsoring the event with proceeds to be donated to Mote Marine Laboratory Red Tide Research and Solutions to Avoid Red Tide (START). The event will be held on Sunday, Aug. 26, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. at the Sandbar Special Events Pavilion in Anna Maria, FL.
