The facility includes many resort-like features such as a large swimming pool, clubhouse game room, picnic tables and other outdoor amenities, large dining hall, gyms, spa treatment rooms and more. Ducey says that they strive for complete relaxation for their patients, which is crucial for the addiction therapy program to be successful.
Patients can choose a private room or a shared room. Each patient room includes a television, full sized beds for each patient and a private bathroom. In addition, the facility fosters outdoor activities such as basketball and volleyball, offer yoga and other fitness classes and various other amenities that Ducey says are designed to keep patients active and healthy. Ducey says that the facility uses medically assisted detox methods such as controlled medications. These medications are designed to help patients by alleviating many of the harsh symptoms of withdrawal. Some patients fear their withdrawal symptoms and often use this as an excuse to avoid becoming sober. Ducey says that through this medically controlled program, patients feel fewer symptoms and to a lesser degree so they are more able to focus directly on their recovery as opposed to the symptoms that they are going through during that recovery.
