Initial track available Feb. 3 with full project releasing Feb. 22
“Here I am,” the first track on Chicago spoken word artist Frankie Fabre’s new project, “Blue Nude | My Naked Thoughts,” will release Feb. 3, with the entirety of the work available February 22.
In an unusual spin on spoken word, Frankie, along with collaborators, delivers “Blue Nude | My Naked Thoughts” using music to amplify the message. The project is a 5-track compilation created by Fabre and produced by Lon Renzell. The lead track, “Here I am,” features the singer Josh K.
The 5 tracks include: “Here I am,” ft. Josh K; “All of Me,” ft. itoldLexi; “Only a Woman;” “Never Say Never;”ft. Sali, and “The last to go.”
Fans of word play, poetry and writing will relate to Frankie’s expression of vulnerability and heartache.
Frankie wrote the pieces and one day decided to record himself and the idea of the project was born. “This project came about from dealing with heart ache,” explains Frankie. “I was hurt but writing poetry helped me deal with it. It was therapy for me and a means to get outside myself and examine things for what they really were, versus what I wanted them to be.”
Frankie has been writing poetry for 18 years as an outlet for him growing up in Chicago.
“I believe my poetry will bring healing to those who choose to open up and connect with the words that I’m sharing,” says Frankie. “I hope it will provide perspective and be an open-door for everyone to learn how to heal and love again. It’s about accountability, love, betrayal and moving on.”
