MLB owners approve A's move to Las Vegas from Oakland

MLB owners on Thursday unanimously approved the Athletics' move from Oakland to Las Vegas, giving another professional sports team for Sin City.

Major League Baseball owners on Thursday approved the Athletics’ relocation from Oakland to Las Vegas.

The owners gave unanimous approval for the move as they met in Arlington, Texas, according to FOX Sports. The approval came about six months after the organization reached a tentative agreement for a new stadium in Las Vegas after being unable to come to a deal with officials in Oakland.

A ballpark in Las Vegas may not be able to open any earlier than 2027. It’s unclear where the A’s would play after the 2024 season during the construction of a new stadium.
