Sam’s Club® Helps Americans Spring Forward to Good Health with Free Screenings

Studies show that springing forward for Daylight Saving Time can impact people’s health by disrupting sleep cycles and increasing stress, especially for those who are already at risk.* To help Americans make a smooth transition into spring, Sam’s Club Pharmacies nationwide will host free health screenings for both members and the public on Saturday, March 12 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., while supplies last.

These “Healthy Mind, Healthy Body” screenings are free, confidential and available to the public at all Sam’s Club locations with a pharmacy (613 locations). The screenings are valued at up to $150** and will include the following tests:

  • Blood pressure
  • Total cholesterol
  • HDL (good cholesterol)
  • Glucose
  • Body mass index (BMI)
  • Vision (not available at all locations)
  • Hearing (not available at all locations)

“Spring is a perfect time to get a better understanding of your health, set new goals, and refresh your routine,” said Jill Turner-Mitchael, senior vice president, Sam’s Club Consumables & Health and Wellness. “With this in mind, as we all spring forward this weekend, we’re proud to offer free screenings as an easy way for people to reset not only their clocks but their health.”

In addition to free health screenings, Sam’s Club Pharmacies also provide other savings and preventive care to each community they serve, such as year-round immunizations for children and adults.*** Eligible Sam’s Club Plus members can also save even more on prescriptions, including exclusive discounts on select generic prescriptions, some of which are available free of charge or at a discounted cost of $4 or $10 for a 30-day supply. This benefit is exclusively available to Plus members in addition to the Sam’s Club Extra Value Drug List, through which Sam’s Club Business and Plus members also receive 10-30 percent savings on select brand name medications. Beyond these Pharmacy offerings, Sam’s Club members can also find a variety of healthy solutions in other areas of the club, including fresh organic foods, vitamins and supplements, oral care products, and wearable health devices.
