Today, Red Bull TV announced the release of a five-part docuseries, Driving Dirty: The Road to the Baja 1000, that follows five wildly diverse desert race teams who risk money, machine and personal safety as they prepare for and race the toughest off-road event in North America. The series launches on demand worldwide for free on Red Bull TV on November 14.

The Score International Baja 1000, known to fans simply as ‘the 1000’ is an incredibly diverse race, made up of dozens of vehicle categories and hundreds of teams, from the top professionals racing their highly specialized Trophy Trucks to first-time amateurs in stock 1970s Volkswagon Beetles. Driving Dirty: The Road to the Baja 1000 dives deep into five distinct journeys to the start line, watching the teams overcome everything that gets in their way on the path to chase their dreams.
Coinciding with the 2016 race, the show is the perfect accompaniment for any motorsports fan following the Score International Baja 1000, and watching the professional and amateurs competing on some of the most demanding terrain in the world. Filming the series was equally challenging. Camera crews were spread across a thousand miles in the desert and endured the heat, dust and physical pounding that filming the 1000 entails -- from modified chase cameras to helicopter aerial rigs to the multiple GoPro cameras used in every vehicle, which were the only way to document the experience the drivers and co-drivers endure on the course.
Each team featured in the series offers a completely fresh perspective on what they’ll risk to make it to Baja – from a father who builds a truck for his teenage daughters to race (Team Pistolas) to a husband and wife team (TeamKore) who put their small business on the line to race a new prototype - The Minotaur. Then there is the pro, champion off-road racer and Red Bull athlete, Bryce Menzies of Menzies Motorsports, who is on the quest of his life to conquer the one race he just can’t seem to win.
Alongside them is the amateur team (Wallentine) who wanted to put their 1976 VW Bug to the test and fulfill a life-long dream of taking on the Baja 1000. Finally, the show features the story of a local team led by Eliseo Garcia, Jr. from Ensenada (Chinolas), who hopes to carry the legacy of his father who was one of the first to race ‘the 1000’ when it began nearly 50 years ago.
