AirPlus International, a global provider of corporate travel payment solutions, releases August’s The Wire…from AirPlus entitled: On the Up and Up. Corporate Travel Buyers and Suppliers were surveyed on the topic of travel volumes for the second half of 2010 and the results were positive projections overall. More than 52 percent of suppliers expected to see travel volume increases and for the 59 percent of buyers with positive projections, 66 percent identified travel for sales or for new business development opportunities as the top area of growth. “The majority of both groups project business travel volume increases overall, and a larger percentage of buyers than suppliers actually expect to see increases in their company's business travel volume in the latter half of 2010 when compared to the same period last year,” said Richard Crum, President and CEO of AirPlus International, Inc. “We also see that the need for ROI in travel programs is also increasing. With 50% of buyers feeling pressure to find additional savings and another 30% focused on ROI, we feel that AirPlus customers are a step ahead in this process. Our robust data is transparent and yields attainable ROI goals including an increase of travel policy and stronger negotiation positions.”
