Amazon’s Third Original Kids Series Annedroids Now Available on Prime Instant Video

(NASDAQ: AMZN)—Amazon today announced its third original kids series, Annedroids, is now available for unlimited streaming on Prime Instant Video at no additional cost to Prime members. Created by Emmy-nominated J.J. Johnson (Dino Dan) and Sinking Ship Entertainment, and aimed at children aged four through seven, Annedroids is a live-action adventure series about “Anne,” a young female scientist, her human friends and their android assistants, and the amazing scientific discoveries they make while undertaking the biggest experiment of them all: growing up. The series spotlights, through trial and error, how science, technology, engineering, the arts and math (STEAM) can inspire children to do great things.

Annedroids stars Addison Holley (Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood) as “Anne,” Adrianna Di Liello (Stage Fright) as her friend “Shania,” and Jadiel Dowlin as “Nick.” The series also features vocal talent from Millie Davis (Orphan Black) as “Pal.”

“We’re thrilled to be working with Amazon on a series that organically showcases the STEAM curriculum by way of a ‘secret garden’ of science, a junkyard environment where it’s not unusual to see a 16-foot claw-like android helping an 11-year-old kid scientist harness lightning to power up her latest invention – and that’s just episode 1!” Said creator and executive producer J.J. Johnson. “With Anne, kid audiences will meet a new type of role model, an aspirational character who loves nothing more than to get her hands dirty and create.”

“J.J. has a unique way of infusing rich characters and storylines into thought-provoking children’s programming,” said Tara Sorensen, Head of Kids’ Programming at Amazon Studios. “Sinking Ship is constantly pushing themselves to do great work and pushing the production values on kids programming to a whole new level. Anne builds on this goal for them and I believe this is their most ambitious production to date. We’re excited to be collaborating with an accomplished creator and studio whose proven track record in the space is sure to leave a positive impact on a new generation of kids.”

Starting today, Prime members have unlimited streaming access to the first seven episodes of Annedroids, at no additional cost to their membership. Prime members can watch on Amazon Fire TV, Fire phone, Kindle Fire, iPad, iPhone, Roku, Xbox, PlayStation, Wii and Wii U, and other connected devices, online at www.amazon.com/AIV, and on Prime Instant Video in the UK. Annedroids will also be available in Kindle FreeTime Unlimited, a service built just for kids that gives them the freedom to explore all their favorite books, games, educational apps, movies and TV shows, while providing parents with the tools they need to manage their kids’ screen time. Amazon recently launched its two first kids series, Tumble Leaf which won the 2014 Annecy International Animated Film Festival award and Creative Galaxy from acclaimed creator Angela Santomero. Tumble Leaf features a curious blue fox named “Fig” and his best friend “Stick” on playful adventures. Creative Galaxy is an interactive art adventure series for preschoolers following “Arty” and “Epiphany” as they travel around the galaxy to solve problems with art, inspiring creative thinking through crafts, music and dance.
