Howard Kessler Salutes President Trump on Expanding Access to Innovative CBD Therapies for Seniors

WASHINGTON, D.C. / ACCESS Newswire / April 1, 2026 / The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced today a new Medicare pilot initiative, under the Trump administration, enabling eligible seniors to access federally compliant, hemp-derived CBD products free of charge through participating healthcare providers within Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation demonstration programs. Below is a statement from The Commonwealth Project Founder Howard Kessler on this historic program:

"This historic day could never have happened without the leadership of President Donald J. Trump. I want to thank President Trump, Secretary Kennedy, Dr. Oz and the administration for their action to deliver tangible results for seniors. They deserve enormous credit for breaking through decades of bureaucratic gridlock to make the vision we helped champion at The Commonwealth Project a reality.

Less than four months after his executive order, President Trump is delivering new therapies through Medicare while advancing faster r, more affordable, real-world evidence to drive medical breakthroughs. With the President's swift action, millions of older Americans now have access to hemp-derived products through physician-guided care that stand to reduce opioid usage and improve quality of life." Howard Kessler, Founder of The Commonwealth Project
