Bedrock Data's approach to AI governance gives enterprises continuous, verifiable visibility into what every AI agent can access and real-time control over what it does with it

Bedrock Data, the platform provider for DSPM, AI data security and governance, today announced it has been recognized in Gartner's Coolest Vendor Innovations in Data Security report. Bedrock Data's platform gives enterprises continuous visibility into data sensitivity, access, lineage and AI exposure across cloud, SaaS and on-premises environments at petabyte scale. Bedrock Data’s AI Data Bill of Materials (DBOM) mentioned in the report, is a capability within ArgusAI, the company’s AI security and governance product, as an innovation designed to strengthen governance, mitigate risk proactively and maintain security as AI adoption grows.

Security leaders are learning that AI risk extends across everything an agent, copilot or model can access in real time, as well as how that access is used when nobody’s watching. Gartner projects that, “through 2028, 80% of unauthorized agentic AI transactions will be caused by internal enterprise policy violations, not cyberattacks, resulting in data corruption and operational liabilities.”1 Bedrock Data found in its own telemetry that the median AI agent identity reaches 55 datastores, more than ten times what the median employee touches and nearly 8 in 10 of those identities can reach stored secrets like API keys and tokens. The Bedrock Data DBOM produces a defensible, continuously updated record of what data trains and feeds every AI system, without moving data outside customer boundaries, which is the foundation CISOs need before they can govern what happens next.

“There's no AI strategy without a data strategy. CISOs and CAIOs are being asked to manage AI risk without a record of what every agent, model and copilot can reach and how the underlying data or access change over time. Most have no way to produce one,” said Bruno Kurtic, CEO and co-founder of Bedrock Data. “Our DBOM produces that record from our Metadata Lake and keeps it current, so governance rests on evidence instead of assumptions. We believe Gartner's recognition reflects what we hear from security leaders every day: they don’t want to slow AI down, they want to prove it's safe.”

Bedrock Data's ArgusAI: Bridging Data Governance and AI

Bedrock Data's ArgusAI gives technology and compliance leaders visibility into what AI systems can access, paired with the ability to control what happens next. Two capabilities anchor that product are its DBOM and Agent DLP capabilities.

Bedrock Data's DBOM gives technology and compliance leaders a way to move from assumed governance to verified governance. It automatically catalogs every dataset an AI system draws on for training, fine-tuning and inference. Built on Bedrock Data's Metadata Lake, Argus AI’s DBOM produces an end-to-end, verifiable lineage record for every data source an AI system accesses, helping teams protect sensitive data before it ever reaches a model.

The capability is built into everyday workflows rather than delivered as a static report. Within the Bedrock Data interface, each datastore carries an interactive DBOM view covering sensitivity breakdowns, access history and entitlements, policy alignment such as encryption and retention, and full lineage and AI exposure tracing. DBOM also fingerprints data so lineage holds even as information is copied, transformed or reused across repositories, and it maps agent to data relationships to support guardrail gap analysis for organizations deploying AI agents.

Most recently, the company launched Agent DLP, a runtime data loss prevention capability built into ArgusAI, giving security teams not just visibility into what agents are accessing but lets them redact or block that access as it happens. Agent DLP sits inline at the agent gateway, inspects every tool call in both directions and enforces data access and regulatory policies in real time, extending ArgusAI from visibility into enforcement.

Bedrock Data has experienced rapid product expansion and company momentum recently. The company closed a $25 million Series A led by Greylock Partners and launched ArgusAI in late 2025 to extend governance into AI systems, followed by a strategic investment from Snowflake Ventures that included deeper technical integration with Snowflake's AI Data Cloud. ArgusAI was subsequently expanded to govern the enterprise AI risk surface, adding MCP Server Discovery and Snowflake Cortex governance alongside general availability of its MCP server.

About Bedrock Data

Bedrock Data is a data security and AI governance platform built on an enterprise knowledge graph of the company's data: what it is, where it lives, where it came from, who can access it and how it is used. Bedrock Data builds and maintains that graph, its patented Metadata Lake, by discovering and classifying data in place across cloud, SaaS, AI and on-premises environments at petabyte scale, without moving data outside customer boundaries. Its open, API-first design delivers those facts to the tools already in the enterprise stack and makes them the basis for policy enforcement, AI governance and automated remediation. Security, data, infrastructure and AI leaders in technology, finance, healthcare and biotech rely on Bedrock Data to secure their data and accelerate AI without increasing risk.
