Nationwide platform offers wind, wildfire, and earthquake deductible buyback and targets one-hour quotes on 94% of qualified submissions

Index Risk today announced its launch as a specialty managing general underwriter focused on single-peril difference-in-conditions (DIC) coverage for commercial property risks. Licensed in all 50 states and Washington, D.C., Index Risk works exclusively with appointed wholesale brokerage teams and launches with three products available immediately: Wind Deductible Buyback, Wildfire Deductible Buyback, and Earthquake Deductible Buyback. Index Risk’s initial product suite is supported by domestic capacity from MS Transverse, rated A+ (Superior), Financial Size Category XV by AM Best.

A well-constructed property program can potentially leave catastrophe-related deductibles or coverage gaps that threaten a business’s financial stability, or may prevent a placement from meeting lender or contractual requirements. Index Risk seeks to address these exposures with tailored coverage that fits around the existing program, supported by underwriting expertise and white-glove service.

“We built Index Risk for the part of a property placement that can determine whether the entire transaction closes,” said Kevin Ware, Co-Founder of Index Risk. “When deductibles leave a commercial insured with more retained risk than lender requirements permit or its balance sheet can comfortably absorb, brokers need a precise solution and a timely answer. Our role is to provide our trading partners a practical solution to bring that retained exposure to a level that fits their client’s risk profile.”

Index Connect, Index Risk’s proprietary technology platform, uses algorithmic underwriting to evaluate each submission against a clearly defined appetite with an underwriter involved in every decision. It brings the property, its catastrophe exposure, and its impact on the broader portfolio into one view, enabling quick response to broker submissions while maintaining underwriting discipline. Index Connect leverages its intelligent workflows to target quotes on 94% of qualified submissions within one hour of receipt, while identifying additional DIC products that may address remaining coverage gaps by automatically connecting brokers with relevant options.

“We began Index Risk with a simple question: What would a modern MGU look like if we built it from a blank sheet of paper?” said Ali Geramian, Co-Founder of Index Risk. “Every decision in building Index Risk centered on providing wholesale brokers, commercial insureds, and capacity providers with a best-in-class solution for closing the gap between the coverage a business has and the protection it needs.”

Index Risk plans to expand its portfolio of DIC offerings with additional products over the coming months, while expanding trading relationships with appointed wholesale brokerage teams on a team-by-team basis.
