Ruveon announces experienced leadership team

Committed to delivering trusted Roundup^® brands and glyphosate-based products and services to customers across the U.S.

Ruveon launched today as a dedicated glyphosate leader following the completion of Bayer Group’s strategic consolidation of U.S. glyphosate resources and operations into a distinct business. The consolidation of the U.S. glyphosate business will enable Ruveon to deliver further value to growers as the leading, domestic producer of essential glyphosate-based solutions critical to U.S. agriculture and food security.

The newly consolidated business will be led by a team including Chief Executive Officer Alfonso Alba Ordóñez and Executive Vice President, Head of Commercial Business Steve Knodle. Ruveon will further streamline glyphosate operations through the combination of both its agriculture and its industrial, turf and ornamental businesses.

Based in St. Louis, Ruveon will focus strategically and operationally on U.S. glyphosate-based product offerings, pricing, go-to-market strategies, production and logistics and will be solely responsible for the U.S. glyphosate business.

Alfonso Alba Ordóñez Bio

Alfonso Alba Ordóñez joins Ruveon as Chief Executive Officer with over 30 years of executive leadership experience with Bayer Group in the global agricultural industry. His career spans senior leadership positions across Europe, South America, North America and China, where he has consistently guided organizations through complex commercial and business transformations, helping them implement strategy and deliver sustained growth.

Prior to joining Ruveon, Alfonso held a series of senior leadership roles across global strategy, commercial integration and regional management, most notably as CEO of Bayer Crop Science China, where he led a transformation that delivered a 20% increase in crop protection sales and a 33% improvement in EBIT over two years. Prior to Bayer, he held various leadership roles at Monsanto. He began his career at Cargill Seed Division.

Alfonso holds an Agricultural Engineering degree from the University of Córdoba, Spain, and an MBA from IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland. He is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese and English, with working knowledge of French.

Steve Knodle Bio

Steve Knodle serves as Executive Vice President, Head of Commercial Business at Ruveon. With over 28 years of agricultural industry experience across domestic and international businesses, Steve will oversee Ruveon’s U.S. glyphosate commercial sales and marketing teams across agricultural and industrial, turf and ornamental businesses.

During his tenure with Bayer Group, Steve has held various commercial leadership roles spanning global strategy, crop systems and marketing, most recently serving as the Global Glyphosate Commercial Lead, directing global glyphosate commercial initiatives. Prior to Bayer, he held various commercial leadership positions at Monsanto. He began his career at Syngenta, progressing from customer-facing and sales positions to leadership roles within the company.

Steve holds a degree in Crop Science Agronomy and Plant Biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and grew up on a family farming operation in Central Illinois, where he was active in 4-H and FFA.
