Growth equity investor Summit Partners today announced that Matt Lunkes has joined the firm as an Advisory Partner. In this role, Mr. Lunkes will work closely with Summit's investment team and Peak Performance Group to support AI value creation across the firm's portfolio, helping management teams identify and scale AI initiatives to build long-term value.

Mr. Lunkes brings deep experience in strategy and AI-led operational improvement to this new role. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff at Accelya, a leading global software provider to the airline industry, where he led corporate strategy and directed internal and product-focused AI programs. Before Accelya, Mr. Lunkes spent several years with Vista Consulting Group managing post-acquisition business process and systems optimization initiatives across more than 20 companies. Earlier in his career, Mr. Lunkes served for a decade as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps.

"We are thrilled to welcome Matt as an Advisory Partner," said Ashwin Subramani, Head of AI at Summit Partners. "Over the course of his career, Matt has led strategy and operational change initiatives across complex operating environments. I'm confident that his practical experience will be a meaningful resource for our portfolio companies as they work to build and scale their AI capabilities."

"Having spent my career helping companies execute through pivotal moments, I've seen firsthand how important disciplined execution is to a company’s success," said Mr. Lunkes. "What drew me to Summit is the strength of its platform and the team's commitment to working closely with portfolio company leadership to help companies deploy AI in thoughtful, practical ways. I am excited to be part of that effort."

Summit Partners' Advisory Partners are experienced executives and operators engaged or retained by the firm to work alongside the firm's investment and Peak Performance Group teams in a variety of capacities, including helping to identify new investment opportunities, offering sector and functional expertise and collaborating with portfolio company leaders on growth strategies focused on long-term value creation.

Summit Partners continues to expand the firm’s AI capabilities; Mr. Lunkes works with a growing team that already includes more than a dozen dedicated professionals focused on AI strategy and execution, both internally and within the portfolio. That effort includes Summit’s Base Camp program, a full-time program designed for early-career AI builders to work alongside the firm's investment team, Peak Performance Group and AI, technology and data science professionals to identify high-value opportunities and build, ship and scale AI tools across Summit and its portfolio companies.
