In response to the severe flooding that affected communities across West Virginia in July, the Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh (FHLBank) is providing financial support to assist ongoing flood relief and recovery efforts.

The catastrophic flash flooding caused widespread damage after torrential rainfall inundated homes and businesses, washed out bridges and forced residents to seek emergency shelter. Governor Patrick Morrisey declared a statewide state of emergency for all 55 counties, and the West Virginia National Guard was deployed to support response and recovery efforts.

FHLBank is announcing a $150,000 donation to the West Virginia Chamber Foundation to support flood relief and recovery efforts for the communities affected by the recent disaster.

In addition to targeted disaster relief, FHLBank offers community investment products, such as the Affordable Housing Program and Community Lending Program, that can serve to support long-term recovery and rebuilding efforts for our communities.

FHLBank will continue to assess the evolving needs of communities across West Virginia and encourages our members to contact their FHLBank Business Development Manager to learn more about available community products that may aid in supporting recovery and rebuilding efforts.
