Mythic (mythic.ai), the inventor of the APU (analog processing unit) and a leader in energy efficient AI computing, today announced the formation of its Defense Advisory Board. Composed of highly distinguished former senior military and government leaders, the board will help guide the strategic integration of Mythic’s breakthrough, low-power AI processors into the U.S. government and national security apparatus.

As both the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community increasingly demand high-performance, low-latency AI compute at the tactical edge, Mythic’s APU technology is designed to offer a massive leap in energy efficiency and processing horsepower. The Defense Advisory Board will work to map these critical capabilities to mission requirements and smoothly transition them into vital programs of record.

“Mythic's APU architecture is designed to eliminate the power and performance limitations of traditional digital processors, while dramatically lowering SWaPC (Size, Weight, Power consumption and Cost) by up to 1000 times,” said Taner Ozcelik, CEO of Mythic. “We believe Mythic solutions are ideally suited for the rigorous demands of the defense sector, and having this extraordinary team of defense and intelligence leaders advising us provides the opportunity to ensure that our technology will be precisely aligned with the most critical and complex needs of the U.S. national security mission.”

“Our national security enterprise operates in environments where every watt and millisecond matters,” said Stephen Rodriguez, Chairman of the Mythic Defense Advisory Board. “To maintain our strategic advantage, the U.S. government needs to be the first to adopt paradigm-shifting technologies. Mythic solutions have the potential to enable a meaningful geopolitical advantage with its cost effective, energy efficient solutions for western datacenter and edge environments.”

Mythic has assembled a board of experts with significant experience in addressing the acquisition gaps, navigating the operational realities at the tactical edge, and anticipating the urgent demand for next-generation compute. Their guidance will be instrumental in bringing Mythic’s highly energy efficient AI capabilities directly to the defense industry.

The founding members of the Mythic Defense Advisory Board include:

  • Stephen Rodriguez, Defense Investor, DCVC — Having served in the U.S. Government and then as a top-ranked defense investor for 13 years, Mr. Rodriguez excels at building teams around product-mission fit. His senior roles across Washington DC policy, investing, and defense industry networks will serve as the focal point for Mythic's expansion into the national security ecosystem.
  • The Honorable Ellen Lord, Former Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition & Sustainment — Having managed the entirety of the DoD acquisition system, Lord brings unmatched authority on industrial-base scaling and Other Transaction (OT) authorities. Her expertise will provide credibility with OSD (Office of the Secretary of Defense) acquisition and prime contractors, ensuring a seamless path for commercial innovation.
  • John Clark, Former Corporate CTO and Head of Lockheed Martin’s Skunk Works — A 27-year veteran of Lockheed Martin, Clark brings unparalleled experience in AI, autonomy, and edge compute from the prime-contractor perspective. He will help guide Mythic’s path from rapid prototyping to established Programs of Record.
  • General Jim Rainey, USA (Ret.), Former Commanding General, Army Futures Command — Gen. Rainey brings profound insight into end-to-end military modernization. With deep knowledge of the requirements-to-program playbook, his guidance will be vital for aligning Mythic’s capabilities with Army modernization priorities and Cross-Functional Teams (CFTs).
  • Lieutenant General Deanna Burt, USSF (Ret.), United States Space Force — Lt. Gen. Burt brings critical perspective on the specialized demands of space operations and the ultimate high-stakes tactical edge. Her expertise will help tailor Mythic’s low-SWaP solutions for the unique rigors and requirements of the space domain.
  • Dawn Meyerriecks, Former CIA Deputy Director for Science & Technology — Having led technical collection and S&T for the Intelligence Community, Meyerriecks brings a deep background in sensing and processing. Her leadership will connect Mythic’s capabilities to the IC’s intense demand for low-power edge processing and facilitate critical relationships across defense intelligence agencies.

By mapping these distinguished operators directly to the acquisition and capability gaps they know how to close, Mythic is positioned to deliver transformative AI compute hardware that safeguards the future of U.S. national security.
