Author Maceo Nightingale introduces his bizarre new poetry release, Two Headed Snake (self-published, 2026). It does not read like a traditional poetry release so much as a surreal journey through the modern mind. It moves fluidly from paranoia to surrealism to a little bit of dark humor. It’s a journey into a world where reality is distorted and language is subverted. Some of the poems from the release were previously censored from social media due to the graphic and controversial subject matter.
Two Headed Snake navigates the weird back alleys of the human mind, blending dark humor with unsettling imagery and emotion. The poems don’t follow traditional form or meaning but represent an exploration into what poetry can be. The language is evocative, the imagery unexpected, and the journey a journey into the chaos, anxiety, and surrealism of modern life while exploring the boundaries of what modern poetry can be.
Author Maceo Nightingale is a writer with a background that stems from lived experience, humor, imagination, and the outside perspective. His poetry explores the boundaries of what poetry can become and what constitutes a “poem.” He dropped out of high school to become a full-time writer and never earned a college degree.
