(PRLeap.com) "My Temporary Home", a new book by Raquel Rodriguez, has been released by Dorrance Publishing Co., Inc.This emotionally poignant narrative offers an intimate look at the foster care experience, drawing directly from Rodriguez's own childhood spent navigating displacement in the Bronx.
"My Temporary Home" follows Lily, a young girl thrust into the foster system after being removed from an unstable environment. Through Lily's eyes, readers experience the profound confusion and "unfamiliar silence" of newfound stability. The story serves as a mirror for the thousands of children currently caught in cycles of trauma, giving a much-needed voice to their silent struggles.
She wrote this for the children still in the system and the adults who never got the chance to tell their stories. In a world that often overlooks foster youth, she wanted to remind readers that behind every case file is a child just trying to feel safe, seen, and loved.
"My Temporary Home" is a call to action for parents, educators, and social workers to engage in more honest conversations about the emotional lives of foster youth.
