Canadian uranium mining leader leverages ISNetworld® to centralize contractor oversight and align with industry standards

ISN, the global leader in contractor and supplier information management services, announced Orano Canada, a worldwide leader in uranium production, selected ISNetworld as its primary contractor information management platform. ISN will assist Orano Canada in centralizing contractor qualification information, improving internal communication, and advancing safety practices.

“Partnering with ISN enables Orano Canada to modernize our contractor management program and benchmark against Saskatchewan mining industry peers who are already using ISNetworld,” said Colin Braithwaite, Vice President, Safety, Health, Environment, & Regulatory at Orano Canada. “Through ISNetworld, Orano Canada will benefit from a more connected contractor network, allowing us to introduce training tools that support long-term growth and enhance safety.”

Headquartered in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Orano Canada operates the McClean Lake uranium mill with a focus on safe, high-quality production and environmental responsibility. Orano Canada implemented ISNetworld to align with industry best practices and leverage ISN’s experience supporting contractor management programs for mining operations across Canada. ISN will assist Orano Canada in centralizing its contractors’ qualification information, enhancing contractor onboarding, and refining internal safety guidelines. Orano Canada plans to use ISNetworld tools and services such as the Online Training tool to deliver site orientation to contractor workers, CultureSight® to assess and improve company safety culture, and Training Qualifications to help ensure contractor workers are qualified for high-risk work.

“Orano Canada partnered with ISN to build a standardized approach to contractor management aligned with best practices of its mining industry peers,” said Kim Ritchie, Senior Vice President of Canadian Operations at ISN. “ISN is proud to support Orano Canada’s journey toward a safer, more efficient contractor management program and to see the strong adoption of ISNetworld across Orano Canada’s contractor base.”
