Atlanta, Georgia — Theodore A. Spaulding, founder of Spaulding Injury Law, has published The Atlanta Car Accident Claim Handbook, a guide to the legal and insurance process that follows a car accident in Georgia. Spaulding is a personal injury attorney who has represented injured drivers across the Atlanta metro area since his admission to the State Bar of Georgia in November 2005, and the Handbook sets out the deadlines, fault rules, and insurance minimums that determine what a claim recovers.

The Handbook works through Georgia’s rules in the order a claim actually unfolds, from the first ten minutes at the scene of a crash through the two-year deadline set by O.C.G.A. Section 9-3-33 for most personal injury claims. It explains Georgia’s modified comparative negligence rule under O.C.G.A. Section 51-12-33, which requires an at-fault driver to carry 51 percent or more of the blame before an injured person recovers any compensation, and it details the state’s $25,000 minimum liability insurance requirement, an amount that has to cover medical bills, lost wages, and pain and suffering combined.

Spaulding, who has practiced Georgia personal injury law since founding Spaulding Injury Law in 2005, adapted several chapters from questions raised on the Atlanta Car Accident Attorneys Podcast with Ted Spaulding, which he hosts. The firm reports a success rate of more than 99 percent across its personal injury cases, and its results include a $3.5 million jury verdict in a Henry County head-on collision case after the insurer’s final pretrial offer was $550,000.
