Toronto, Ontario – July 24, 2025 — SMARTBUILD, a construction management platform built for field teams and project stakeholders, has released a significant update to its user interface, introducing several new features across dashboards, communication tools, and contact records. The update, live as of July 3, 2025, is designed to improve the speed, clarity, and ease with which users navigate and manage construction data on active jobsites.
SMARTBUILD stated that this release is one of its most comprehensive design updates to date. The platform refresh includes enhancements to the main dashboard, project dashboard, message center, and company contact records, all intended to help users access critical information faster and maintain jobsite momentum.
According to the company, the interface improvements are a direct response to customer feedback and ongoing field engagement with general contractors, subcontractors, and project managers. The latest changes reflect a continued effort to simplify construction workflows while maintaining robust functionality.
On the Main Dashboard, users will now see a prioritized view of the projects and tasks they are actively working on. The redesigned layout features smarter project filters, allowing users to focus on specific jobs or responsibilities with greater speed. The new structure is aimed at making navigation more intuitive and reducing the time it takes to surface the most relevant project details. The dashboard also offers faster insights into key project metrics, presented in a cleaner visual format.
Updates to the Project Dashboard include improved visibility into the Critical Completion Monitor, which now occupies a more prominent position on the screen. Project milestone dates are now displayed more clearly, providing quicker access to time-sensitive information. In addition, project-related messages now appear alongside the Critical Completion Monitor, allowing users to view schedule status and communication threads in one location.
The Message Center has been redesigned to offer better filtering and communication transparency. Users can now sort messages by category and view project-specific message counts within filters. Attachments and linked content are more accessible, streamlining access to supporting files. Each message thread now displays the number of participants involved, helping teams track communication more efficiently.
In the Company Contact section, users can now view all projects a company is involved in directly from the company profile. Each company profile also includes a centralized location for project-related documents, allowing users to view and manage files across jobs. Document folders now display the number of files they contain, making it easier to scan and locate necessary information.
“These updates are focused on improving how quickly users can find what they need, whether it’s a milestone date, a document, or a message,” said Zulqernain Malik, Founder of SMARTBUILD. “Construction is a fast-moving environment, and we’ve designed this update to keep teams focused on the work, not the software.”
The platform update applies automatically across all active SMARTBUILD accounts. No user action is required to enable the new features, and existing workflows remain intact. The enhancements are compatible with both desktop and mobile versions of the platform, with layout improvements carried across screen sizes.
SMARTBUILD encourages users to explore the updated dashboards, filters, and company profiles to take full advantage of the added functionality. The SMARTBUILD Support Team is available for users who have questions or require guidance on the new layout.
This update follows a series of enhancements the company has made over the past year, including the launch of smrt-E, a voice-powered AI assistant for field reporting, and the introduction of Toolbox Talks for mental health awareness in partnership with the Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention.
