Local Connecticut Grocer Recognized for Community Impact, Innovation, and Family Legacy

Cingari Family Markets, the family-owned and operated Connecticut-based supermarket company, is proud to announce it was named Business of the Year by the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce at the 79th Annual Member Recognition & Awards Dinner on June 26. Tom Cingari Jr., Vice President of Produce, Floral and Ecommerce for his family’s company, accepted the award in person at Bridgeport’s Black Rock Yacht Club.
The Chamber’s Business of the Year Award celebrates a company that has demonstrated exceptional growth, strong community leadership and a positive economic impact.
Over its nearly century‑long history, Cingari Family Markets has expanded to include 10 ShopRite stores and two Cingari Family Markets across southwestern Connecticut. The Cingari family has invested in store renovations, expanded local hiring and training programs and contributed more than $5 million through the Cingari Family Foundation to support area schools, food pantries and healthcare institutions.
