Today, Human Capital Education announced the appointment of Dr. Michelle A. Marks to its Board of Directors. Human Capital enables colleges and universities to grow with purpose by providing the systems, expertise, data, and strategy needed to attract, enroll, and support students more effectively and efficiently.

With more than 20 years of experience as a CEO and a senior executive in higher education, Dr. Marks brings expertise in institutional strategy, workforce alignment, and public-private partnerships. Dr. Marks most recently served as Chancellor of the University of Colorado Denver, where she led enterprise-wide transformation initiatives and technology-enabled innovation while strengthening the institution’s financial condition and positioned the university for long-term growth by offering programs that attracted a diverse student population.

“Michelle’s nationally recognized leadership in higher education makes her an important addition to our Board,” said Justin McMorrow, CEO of Human Capital Education. “As HCE expands the services we offer to our clients, we will leverage her depth of knowledge about how colleges and universities can innovate and thrive in dynamic environments.”

Prior to her chancellorship, Dr. Marks served as Vice President for Strategic Partnerships and Innovation at George Mason University, where she led large-scale strategic planning efforts, launched an international branch campus, and developed partnerships that drove enrollment growth, revenue diversification, and brand expansion. She also co-founded P3.EDU, a nationally recognized conference focused on successful public-private partnerships in higher education.

“Michelle’s career reflects the kind of integrated, results-oriented leadership that aligns strongly with Human Capital’s mission,” said Doug Kelsall, Chairperson of the Human Capital Education Board of Directors. “Her experience guiding complex institutions through transformation and growth will be invaluable as we continue to support our partners with scalable solutions.”

Dr. Marks has served on national, state, and regional boards and currently holds the title of Chancellor Emeritus and Professor of Management at the University of Colorado Denver Business School, where she teaches executive and MBA courses in leadership and organizational effectiveness.

“I’m honored to join the Board of Directors at Human Capital Education,” said Dr. Marks. “Human Capital plays a critical role in helping institutions navigate complexity, act on insight, and grow with purpose.
