Mr. Brandt enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 2007 without a clear direction. Since he enjoyed sports and coaching, he decided to pursue a degree in kinesiology. Having graduated from the university with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology and exercise science in 2011, he didn't have much luck finding a job related to his field of study. So, Mr. Brandt returned to school to pursue a career in accounting.

The Value of Networking
While pursuing his new degree at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, Mr. Brandt worked briefly as a pharmacy technician. He soon learned that the head pharmacist's brother was a financial controller at a local business. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in accounting in 2014, he took advantage of this networking opportunity and secured a job at Schuette Metals.

After four years at Schuette Metals, Mr. Brandt took a senior accountant position at SC Swiderski LLC. Two years later, the former financial controller had an opening and reached out to see if Mr. Brandt would be interested in the position. Networking continued to pay off, as he accepted the corporate accountant role.

Work at the Greenheck Group
Mr. Brandt has worked at the Greenheck Group since 2019, rising from his initial position as a corporate accountant to a senior corporate accountant. In 2024, he was promoted to corporate accounting manager. In this role, Mr. Brandt is responsible for finalizing reporting, forecasting details, managing his team, conducting audits and attending to various other projects.

One of Mr. Brandt's most important ongoing initiatives at Greenheck Group involves integrating artificial intelligence. His group within accounting has been working to decide whether it makes business sense to introduce the technology and if it would benefit employees in their lives and work.

Outside of his professional career, Mr. Brandt is actively involved in several civic organizations. Notably, he served as a board member of United Way of Marathon County's Emerging Leaders from 2018 to 2022 and has continued to serve on United Way of Marathon County's Emerging Leaders Lead Team since 2018.

Ambition for the Future
Within the next five to 10 years, Mr. Brandt aims to continue growing in his field. To this end, he intends to learn as much as he can to build a stronger foundation board, which will allow him to collaborate with various Greenheck Group leaders to improve the company as a workplace. Ultimately, Mr. Brandt hopes to steer the company and its employees in the right direction.
