Lincoln, Nebraska – Berry Law, the prestigious, award-winning law firm renowned not only for representing veterans but also for employing them, has added a unique new attorney to its ranks.
A 2019 graduate of the Creighton School of Law, David Ceraso is a veteran with extensive and diverse military experience before beginning his legal career. Having enlisted in 2008 as a combat engineer, Ceraso was stationed at Fort Irwin National Training Center with the 11th Armored Calvary Regiment. While there, he worked to provide real-world training to service members before their deployment to Iraq or Afghanistan. In 2010, he reclassed as a medic and was stationed at Fort Bliss with the 1st Armored Division until his honorable discharge in 2012. Following his departure from the armed forces, Ceraso obtained a degree in criminology and criminal justice from the University of Nebraska- Omaha before entering law school.
In addition to his military service, Ceraso also has the distinction of having served the United States federal government. Following his graduation from law school, Ceraso took a year hiatus before sitting for the bar exam and worked for the Department of Homeland Security in their Office of Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction in Washington, DC.
“The skills and insights I gained during my service in the military, coupled with my experience at DHS, have uniquely prepared me for the challenges of defending clients in the legal arena. Every case is an opportunity to uphold the principles of security and fairness,” said David.
Following his time with the DHS, Ceraso obtained his law license and worked for three and a half years for the Douglas County Attorney’s Office in the Juvenile Division before taking a position at Berry Law.
David says, “Joining Berry Law Firm is an opportunity to join a team of dedicated legal professionals who share my passion for defending the rights of the accused. My goal as a criminal defense attorney is to be a steadfast advocate for individuals facing criminal charges by providing compassionate support, thorough representation, and unwavering dedication to secure the best possible results for our clients.”
