December 10, the EXLANTIX ET received the highest five-star safety rating in the latest Euro NCAP (2024 protocol) assessment. The model delivered strong results in all four core tests: 90% for Adult Occupant Protection, 85% for Child Occupant Protection, 76% for Vulnerable Road Users, and 79% for Safety Assist. These results reflect EXLANTIX’s solid capability in vehicle safety design and technology development.
Advanced Safety Architecture: Developed to Global High Standards
The EXLANTIX Eis built on the brand’s self-developed new energy platformT. The team invested almost 300 million RMB in safety structure and ADAS testing. They ran over 1.2 million kilometers of road tests worldwide,
“We don’t just aim to pass tests; we are committed to providing comprehensive protection for users in the real world,” said Dr. Xu, Chief Engineer of Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. “The ET’s body structure was designed with stiffness targets that exceed industry standards. Its active safety systems have been validated through more than 3,000 simulated scenarios, ensuring reliable performance even in extreme cases.”
Active Safety: 23 ADAS Functions for Full-Scenario Protection
The EXLANTIX ET uses a perception system with 22 high-precision sensors. These include an 8-MP front camera, four 3-MP surround-view cameras, five millimeter-wave radars, and twelve ultrasonic radars. This system supports 23 ADAS functions. Key features such as RCW Rear Collision Warning, DMS Driver Monitoring System, APA Automatic Parking Assist performed strongly in the tests. They contributed to the high Safety Assist score.
Passive Safety: A High-Stiffness Body Sets a New Standard
In passive safety, the ET features a steel-aluminum mixed body with 88% high-strength materials, including 66% high-strength steel and 22% aluminum alloy. Its torsional rigidity reaches 40,000 Nm/°, far higher than the BMW 5 Series (33,000 Nm/°) and close to the level of some ultra-luxury vehicles
In the frontal offset crash test, the A-pillar remained intact and the cabin showed almost no deformation. In the side impact test, the 40L ultra-large air curtain (2,368 mm long) covered the A- to C-pillars and maintained pressure for up to six seconds. The roof also reached 11 tons of compression strength, far above the Euro NCAP five-star requirement.
Battery Safety: China’s First EV SUV with NESTA
The EXLANTIX ET is the first pure-electric SUV in China to receive the NESTA seal of approval. Its battery system has IP68 waterproof protection. The bottom is reinforced with 1,300 MPa hot-formed steel armor. Combined with 800,000 tests over speed bumps, it ensures durability under harsh road conditions.
At the system level, the ET offers a complete safety chain from physical protection to intelligent monitoring. Dual-layer insulation for copper bars and directional venting channels help prevent thermal propagation. A big-data platform analyzes user charging behavior to build early-warning models.
With its superior body structure and leading intelligent safety systems, the EXLANTIX ET brings global users a trustworthy and premium electric driving experience.
