LOS ANGELES, CA, August 05, 2022 /24-7PressRelease/ -- In 2012, Tamer Elnoury, a Muslim undercover FBI agent, infiltrated a group led by Chiheb Esseghaier, who at the time was a renowned doctor, traveling freely throughout North America and the world pursuing medical research. However, simultaneously, he was an extremely dangerous Al-Qaeda operative running two Al-Qaeda sleeper cells and was one of the very few in direct contact with Al-Qaeda leader Ayman Al-Zawahiri, the hand-picked successor to Osama bin Laden.
The undercover operation revealed that the sleeper cells were planning two different and potentially devastating attacks in the United States and Canada - at the same time. To prevent catastrophe Elnoury had to gain Esseghaier's trust - and then race to prevent either attack from ever taking place.
Already an experienced undercover officer, Tamer Elnoury (who uses a pseudonym for his own protection) joined the FBI after 9/11 in an elite unit of the brand new Joint Terrorism Task Force. When he was given the assignment to go undercover and investigate Chiheb Esseghaier, his connection to Al-Qaeda was yet to be confirmed, much less his direct line to its leader, Ayman Al-Zawahiri.
