DEEP Robotics Won the First Prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of Zhejiang Province

HANGZHOU, CN / ACCESS Newswire / February 10, 2026 / On February 9, the list of winners for the 2024 Science and Technology Progress Award of Zhejiang Province was officially announced. DEEP Robotics' project, "Key Technologies and Industrialization of Quadruped Robots for Complex Scenarios," was honored with the First Prize in the Zhejiang Provincial Science and Technology Progress Awards. The award-winning project was jointly submitted by DEEP Robotics as the lead organization, in collaboration with Zhejiang University, Wolong Electric Group, CETC No. 21 Research Institute, State Grid Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., Zhejiang University of Technology, and State Grid Zhejiang Ultra-High Voltage Branch.

The Zhejiang Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award represents the highest honor in the province's science and technology sector. It aims to recognize scientific and technological achievements that have made significant breakthroughs in technological innovation, achievement transformation, and industrialization, creating remarkable economic, social, or ecological environmental benefits.

The project spearheaded by DEEP Robotics primarily focused on tackling the numerous challenges faced by quadruped robots in complex environments such as rubble and muddy terrain, dark and confined spaces, long corridors with multiple floors, as well as high-altitude and extremely cold regions.

In motion control, the project achieved a breakthrough in highly dexterous and adaptive motion control technologies for complex terrains, significantly enhancing the robots' adaptive capabilities. Regarding environmental perception and decision-making, it developed autonomous perception, precise comprehension, and autonomous planning technologies tailored for complex scenarios, substantially improving autonomous navigation in perception-limited environments. For the overall system, it created an all-weather, high-efficiency protective robot design for multi-scenario applications, providing a solid guarantee for long-term stable operation under harsh working conditions.

The project also yielded significant outcomes in academic research, standard leadership, economic benefits, and industry influence. By the end of 2024, the project team had secured 82 authorized invention patents, published 39 high-level academic papers, and took the lead in formulating 1 national standard and 2 group standards. The related achievements have been applied to DEEP Robotics' quadruped robot products, with the project team collectively generating direct economic benefits amounting to billions of yuan (RMB).

As a global leader in the industry application of quadruped robots, DEEP Robotics' self-developed quadruped robot products have achieved large-scale deployment across multiple industry scenarios, earning widespread recognition from clients both domestically and internationally. Moving forward, the company will continue to deepen its technological strategy and planning in cutting-edge areas such as multimodal environment perception, cross-scenario embodied navigation, and sensory-motor fusion motion control. It aims to promote the widespread application of embodied intelligent robots in more hazardous and complex scenarios, contributing innovative strength to the high-quality development of China's robotics industry.
