Bristol, who has worked for Bozeman, Montana-based Simms for 30 years and is part of the brand’s executive leadership team, was appointed director of the Foundation Board soon after Vista Outdoor acquired Simms in 2022. In the past year she has been the Board champion for several partnerships, including the Foundation’s support of such nonprofits as Warriors & Quiet Waters Foundation.

Bristol is currently a member of the Executive Committee for the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation, serves on the Board of Directors for Warriors & Quiet Waters, serves on the Board of Trustees for Casting for Recovery and serves on the American Sportfishing Association Board of Directors, currently chairing the newest committee, Sustainability & Community.

An avid fly fisher and enjoys adventure fishing travel with her family, Bristol will now bring her vast experience with Simms and her passion for outdoor recreation and conservation to this important Foundation leadership position.

“The Vista Outdoor Foundation reinforces our employees’ commitment to getting more people outdoors, diversifying participation in the activities we all enjoy and advocating for the outdoor space that we love,” Bristol said. “With its support of such a wide variety of nonprofits, the Foundation provides an opportunity for our teams to find a connection that resonates for them personally. In this role, I want to engage with Board members and identify opportunities to build awareness of the great initiatives that are happening because of the support the Foundation provides its grantees.”

In December 2022, the Foundation announced that its Board of Directors selected 12 nonprofit organizations to receive grants as part of the Foundation’s second annual grant cycle. The 12 organizations include nine that were part of the inaugural grant cycle and three that were new for Fiscal Year 2023. They represent a cross-section of organizations that promote conservation, encourage youth and veteran participation in outdoor sports, and work to improve diversity and inclusion in the outdoors.

Vista Outdoor will communicate the Foundation’s future funding activities once the company completes its previously announced separation in 2023.
