First American Deputy Chief Economist Odeta Kushi Named a HousingWire 2023 Woman of Influence

First American Financial Corporation (NYSE: FAF), a premier provider of title, settlement and risk solutions for real estate transactions and the leader in the digital transformation of its industry, today announced that Deputy Chief Economist Odeta Kushi was named to the HousingWire 2023 Women of Influence list, which honors a group of 100 women who are shaping and propelling the housing economy forward with their impressive list of achievements. HousingWire’s selection committee chose this year’s honorees on their professional accomplishments within their organizations and their contributions to the overall industry, community outreach, client impact and personal success.

“Odeta is invaluable as a leader at First American, combining sharp and thoughtful economic insights, strong communication skills, and a seemingly boundless drive to help others succeed,” said Ken DeGiorgio, chief executive officer of First American. “She is a go-to expert within the company and throughout the housing industry, providing unique, data-driven analysis of the dynamics influencing the housing market and broader economy.”

Kushi was recognized for her various leadership roles across First American, which include managing the Economics and Decision Sciences teams, sharing her insights on economic and housing market trends via speaking opportunities at industry events and media interviews, and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion and mentorship across the company. Further, she has played a critical role in the success of The REconomy Podcast™, which she co-hosts with Chief Economist Mark Fleming. Kushi was also recently named a leading woman in homebuilding by Builder & Developer magazine.

Outside of her day-to-day role, Kushi serves as co-chair of the Financial Services Roundtable for the National Association of Business Economics, the largest international association of applied economists, strategists, academics, and policymakers committed to the application of economics. She is also a fierce animal advocate, frequently volunteering her time and resources to support organizations working to help animals in need.

“This year’s list of honorees is a testament to the outstanding achievements of some of the industry’s top performing female leaders,” said Sarah Wheeler, editor-in-chief of HousingWire. “These honorees have demonstrated unparalleled leadership, innovation and dedication to their organizations and inspire the next generation of leaders to envision a future without boundaries.”
