Establishes a dedicated, end-to-end investment banking effort across the residential finance ecosystem

Edgar Matthews & Co. LLC ("Edgar Matthews"), an investment bank focused on the structured finance market, today announced that Sanjay Patel has joined the firm as a Managing Director. Mr. Patel will lead Edgar Matthews’ advisory and capital markets coverage of the residential finance sector, spanning QM and non-QM mortgage, RTL and DSCR, HELOC and closed-end second liens, SFR, HEI, MSR, and adjacent financing products.

Mr. Patel's appointment underscores Edgar Matthews' continued investment in specialized sector expertise as the firm broadens its footprint across structured credit and deepens engagement with originators, asset managers, and insurance capital. The appointment also formalizes a dedicated coverage effort for a segment of the market Edgar Matthews has participated in selectively since its founding and further extends the firm's structured credit franchise to the world’s largest consumer credit market.

Mr. Patel brings more than two decades of financial services experience to the firm, including more than 16 years of expertise partnering with specialty finance companies on capital markets execution, financing, and strategic transactions. He joins Edgar Matthews from Nomura, where he served as a senior banker covering the mortgage and residential credit sectors exclusively, and previously held similar roles at BMO Capital Markets and Citi. Over the course of his career, Mr. Patel has advised on more than $21 billion of transactions in both public and private capital markets, securitization, whole loan and forward flow trades, warehouse and corporate financings, and M&A.
