Acibadem International's Q3 2026 Turkey Medical Price Index compares guide prices across 75 procedures with typical UK private and US self-pay ranges.
-- Turkish guide prices for international patients are, on average, 40% lower than typical UK private treatment prices and 56% lower than typical US self-pay prices, according to the Q3 2026 Turkey Medical Price Index published by Acibadem International.
The new index examines 75 procedures across four major categories: dental care, hair transplantation, plastic and aesthetic surgery, and orthopedics and spine treatment.
Designed to provide patients, journalists and researchers with clearer comparisons between markets, the index examines What medical treatment really costs in Turkey alongside representative private treatment ranges in the UK and self-pay ranges in the United States.

Dentistry Shows the Largest Average UK Price Gap
Dental procedures recorded the widest average difference between Turkey and the UK, with Turkish guide prices averaging 54% below typical UK private ranges. The difference compared with typical US self-pay prices was 63%.
Some individual procedures showed even larger differences.
A full smile makeover involving 20–24 units recorded the largest UK price gap in the index at 76%. The Turkey guide range was €3,250–€7,800, compared with a typical UK range of £16,000–£24,000.
Other notable dental comparisons included All-on-4 treatment at 64% below typical UK pricing and a single dental implant, including the crown, at 63% below.
Hair Transplant and Aesthetic Procedures Also Show Price Differences
Hair transplant procedures averaged 41% below typical UK prices and 54% below typical US self-pay ranges.
The index includes FUE, DHI and Sapphire FUE procedures alongside beard, eyebrow and other forms of hair restoration.
Plastic and aesthetic procedures recorded an average saving of 39% compared with UK private prices and 47% compared with US self-pay prices.
The procedures assessed include rhinoplasty, tummy tuck, breast surgery, liposuction, facelifts and other cosmetic treatments.
Turkey Is Not Cheaper for Every Procedure
The data also highlights an important distinction: lower prices in Turkey are not universal.
Orthopedics and spine procedures showed an average difference of 27% compared with UK prices, considerably smaller than the differences recorded in dentistry and hair restoration.
Some procedures were around the same price or even more expensive than their UK equivalents. Hip arthroscopy was calculated at 7% above the typical UK midpoint, while rotator cuff repair was 4% higher and knee PRP injections were 10% higher.
According to the index's analysis, one reason is that procedures heavily dependent on imported implants, devices or other medical hardware have less room for price differences between countries.
Why Treatment Prices Differ Between Markets
The index identifies several economic factors behind the differences in treatment costs.
These include lower labor and facility costs in Turkey, currency differences and the high volume of certain procedures performed by specialist clinics and hospitals.
The impact varies considerably depending on the treatment. Procedures in which specialist labor and clinical time account for a large proportion of the total cost can show wider international price differences. Procedures dominated by globally priced medical devices may show much smaller gaps.
For patients comparing options internationally, the index recommends looking beyond the headline treatment price and checking exactly what a quotation includes, such as implant brands, hospital stays, anesthesia, follow-up care and revision policies.
A Quarterly Benchmark for International Treatment Costs
The Q3 2026 edition uses published guide ranges for international patients in Turkey and representative private and self-pay ranges compiled from published clinic and insurer price lists in the UK and US.
Savings are calculated by comparing the midpoint of each price range, using Q3 exchange-rate assumptions of £1 = €1.17 and $1 = €0.92.
Prices were last reviewed in August 2026, and Acibadem International states that the figures should be treated as market guide ranges rather than individual treatment quotations.
The index is expected to be updated quarterly, with the Q4 2026 edition planned to introduce quarter-on-quarter price movements.
