SAO TOME - April 6, 2026 - His Excellency President Carlos Manuel Vila Nova has endorsed the Sao Tome Financial Centre (STFC), a new international financial centre and economic freezone. The endorsement was given during an audience at the Presidential Palace on March 26, at which the President received a delegation from Aequatoris led by Directors and Founding Partners Mohamed DAG DAG and Sam Kovacs.
The Prime Minister and his government have received the delegation and expressed their full support for the project. The STFC will attract international services businesses, professional firms, corporate and regional headquarters, as well as fund managers, fintech companies, and insurers to Sao Tome and Principe, with a 5% corporate tax rate and a direct revenue share to the State.
The centre is expected to create hundreds of jobs for Santo means and will include a dedicated training centre teaching English, administration, compliance, accounting, and corporate services. Aequatoris expects the STFC to double the country's rate of GDP growth within years of becoming operational.
