Houston, Texas - On June 25, 2026, Dr. Verna Caddie, Founder and President of Leaders Esteem Christian Bible University (LECBU), held a press conference to address recent public statements concerning the University. During the press conference, Dr. Caddie addressed what the University describes as a campaign of public criticism directed toward LECBU and its leadership, (Candice Matthews, Voodoo worshipping openly to harm others).

The University also discussed its decision to revoke a previously awarded honorary recognition following an internal review conducted in accordance with its policies and institutional standards.
